Raymond Cruz, Cancer Fighter

Ray's Story

Raymond Marcial Cruz valiantly fought a three-year battle with Ewing-like Sarcoma. Ray was a son and a brother. He was a talented singer-songwriter. He was a man of God who used his time on Earth to spread love, positivity and unending generosity. He was a constant bright light to those who had the pleasure and honor of knowing him.

His legacy of generosity, joy, kindness and grace will live on in those who knew him and through the fundraisers and good works that will continue in his name.

Raymond Marcial Cruz

April 30, 2000-August 31, 2019

He proudly served his community by always doing his very best to help others and to share his story, in hopes to make a difference in the world. One thing Ray always shared was that “You can’t choose what happens to you, but you can choose how to respond.”

After Ray was diagnosed with bone cancer in January of 2017, he rarely lost his spirit. Even when being re-diagnosed a third time, he continued to keep his positive spirit, strong faith and giving heart. Ray’s memory will forever be cherished by his parents, Blandina and Raymond, his brother Ryan, sisters Kasondra and Riley, and grandmothers Alma and Ricarda, as well as many cousins, aunts, uncles, and friends.
