Our Mission
The Ray of Light Foundation strives to inspire, educate, and bring joy to others by building community partnerships, mobilizing the power of volunteers and the generosity of donors to assist families in need, especially those affected by childhood cancer. In doing so, we honor the life of Raymond M. Cruz, whose unending light taught us the value of community before self through the art of giving.
Who We Are
The Ray of Light Foundation is a 501(c)(3) non-profit providing benevolent assistance to those in need in Middle Tennessee. The non-profit was set up by Raymond Cruz Sr. and Blandina Vergara Cruz in honor of their son Raymond's legacy after his passing from cancer in 2019. Throughout his three year battle with Ewing-like Sarcoma, Raymond's focus was always on helping others. The Ray of Light Foundation will continue Raymond's legacy of warmth and generosity through initiatives like our Shine Your Light Youth Vocal Competition, Snack Drives, Toy Drives, and more.
