ray of light foundation
what is the ray of light foundation?
Before his passing, Raymond knew he wanted his parents to continue helping children and families in need, particularly those who were battling with cancer. His parents set up The Ray of Light Foundation, a 501(c)(3) charitable non-profit to continue Ray's legacy of warmth and generosity by providing benevolent assistance to those in need in Middle Tennessee.
ray of light's programs
Ray of Light Foundation currently has several programs and on-going fundraising events:
1. Monthly donations of snack and Kroger gift cards to the children and parents currently being treated for cancer at the Vanderbilt Children's Hospital in Nashville, Tennessee. (Please note: Snack donations have currently been halted due to COVID-19 restrictions. However, we are still collecting Kroger Gifts for the Children's Hospital social workers to distribute to the families in the children's ward.) Donations can be dropped by to Riley's Salon at 919 Columbia Avenue in downtown Franklin.
2. Shine Your Light Youth Vocal Competition: In 2019, Ray of Light, in conjunction with Dreams Do Come True Princess Parties and Williamson County Parks and Recreation, held the first ever Shine Your Light Youth Vocal Competition. The competition was held at the Williamson County Performing Arts Center in Franklin, Tennessee. Children and teens competed in front of an audience and panel of celebrity judges and a winner was chosen from each division to receive prizes. Money raised from ticket sales were donated to the Vanderbilt Children's Hospital. (Please note: Due to COVID-19, the 2020 Shine Your Light Youth Vocal Competition was postponed until 2021.)
