Ray of Light Foundation Thanksgiving Food Basket Drive
The first annual Ray of Light collecting and distributing Thanksgiving food baskets, took place on Sunday November 19, 2023
According to Feeding America, 6.2% (13,200) of people in Williamson County are food insecure, while 12% (7,100) of children in Williamson County are food insecure, as of 2017. Approximately 65% are ineligibles for government assistance because they reside above 185% of the poverty level. Who rely on Food Pantry donation to feed themselves or feeding their family members.
Ray of Light Foundation urgently hoped for a generous response to its Thanksgiving Food Basket Drive. The 35 volunteers provided 100 Thanksgiving baskets with all the dinner fixings for the seniors at Chickasaw and Reddick Assistant Living in Franklin and the families at Vanderbilt Children's Hospital.
